WWE had a pretty good time turning Danhausen into one of the faces of Halloween last month, and apparently they’re not putting the seasonal madness away just yet. Christmas is next, and Danhausen is getting a very festive makeover.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is planning to roll out “Santahausen” over the next few months. The idea came together after the company saw how well Danhausen performed from a marketing standpoint during Halloween.
“Following the tremendous success of Danhausen during Halloween season, a source indicated to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select that, at least from a marketing standpoint, Danhausen will be portrayed as Santahausen over the next few months, with several Christmas-themed merchandise items being prepared for release ahead of the holidays.”
And WWE apparently sees plenty of money underneath that Christmas tree. The planned lineup goes well beyond the usual T-shirt, with several different Santahausen products being prepared.
“We’re told WWE has high hopes for the Danhausen/Christmas lineup, which will include T-shirts, hoodies, puppets, magnets, and more.”
The move makes plenty of sense after WWE basically let Danhausen own Halloween last month. He received his own “Very Nice, Very Evil Halloween Special” on YouTube featuring names such as Papa Shango and The Boogeyman, while WWE also leaned into Danhausen-themed programming around SmackDown and NXT Halloween Havoc.
It looks like Danhausen may have stumbled into a pretty unique lane on WWE’s roster — the guy they can completely repackage around a holiday without anybody questioning why. If Santahausen catches on too, somebody in WWE’s merchandise department might already be looking at the 2027 calendar and wondering what other holidays they can throw at him.
Do you think Santahausen will work as well as Danhausen’s Halloween gimmick, and what holiday should WWE give him next? Let us know what you think in the comments.
