As previously reported, JBL announced Friday night via Twitter that he’s stepping away from his weekly broadcasting role on SmackDown LIVE to dedicate more time to at-risk youth and communities in Bermuda.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that his decision to leave SmackDown LIVE has been in the works for awhile.
Sources say that back in May JBL informed WWE he wouldn’t be re-signing under the same terms when his contract expired. It is unclear what his reasoning was, but that was shortly after he was targeted in reports as the reason for Mauro Ranallo leaving WWE.
