Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.
Hausman asks Bischoff if he thinks there’s more than meets the eye to WWE’s relationship with WME-IMG and if he thinks McMahon would ever consider selling the company. Bischoff says he can’t imagine the McMahon family ever selling WWE, but McMahon has a responsibility to listen to any offers since WWE is a publicly traded company.
Hausman points out that some information leaked this week which stated that Paul Heyman was pushing to put the Universal Title on Samoa Joe at SummerSlam. Rumours have been floating around that WWE sometimes leaks information to the public to see how the public responds to it, but Bischoff says he never did that during his time at the top of WCW, and he can’t imagine WWE doing it either.
Speaking about the rumours that Lesnar might be returning to UFC for another match, Bischoff says if he was a WWE executive, he’d absolutely want Lesnar walking to the octagon with the Universal Title around his waist. If he was a UFC executive, he certainly would NOT want Lesnar walking to the octagon with a WWE Title around his waist. He doesn’t think that would help UFC at all, and it might actually hurt it because he doubts UFC fans would be happy about seeing a WWE Title around the waist of a UFC competitor.
