The Rock’s involvement in WWE has always been a hot topic, and his potential clash with Roman Reigns remains a major talking point.

In an update on January 10, wrestling insider Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the idea of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is far from dead. While plans for the match didn’t materialize for WrestleMania 41, it could still happen under the right circumstances.

Meltzer wrote, “The idea of Rock vs. Reigns we have been told by several is not dead, and they still could go to that in the future, perhaps Mania but the idea of somewhere else, particularly with the crazy money some places are paying fighters, that could also be an option. It’s up to him if he wants and has time to go through the training camp he feels is necessary to prepare himself at his age to do the match.”

This update adds a new layer to The Rock’s ongoing saga with WWE. After his recent Instagram Live session during the Netflix debut of RAW reportedly caused behind-the-scenes headaches, fans have been questioning what’s next for the Hollywood star. While WWE decided against making him champion at WrestleMania 41 due to his packed schedule, the door is clearly still open for him to face Reigns—whether it’s at a future WrestleMania or another lucrative event.

The Rock’s schedule and his need for extensive preparation have always been hurdles. Meltzer’s comments suggest that the decision ultimately rests with The Rock himself. If he’s willing to commit to the training and make room in his busy calendar, the match could finally happen.

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is the kind of blockbuster match that wrestling fans dream about, and while it’s not set in stone, Meltzer’s update proves the possibility is still alive. Whether it happens at WrestleMania or a cash-loaded international spectacle, one thing’s for sure—when these two finally collide, the wrestling world will be watching. Stay tuned, because with The Rock, you never know what’s coming next.
