WrestleMania 41 plans are heating up, and with the Royal Rumble around the corner, speculation is rampant about who will secure their spot in the main event.
According to Billi Bhatti on the Dirty Sheets podcast, the Royal Rumble winner could be none other than Seth Rollins, setting the stage for a monumental WrestleMania showdown.
Bhatti revealed, “I was told very clearly that the loser of CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins would win the Royal Rumble. Now, don’t take that to the bank because so much has changed. WWE doesn’t have anything set in stone for WrestleMania right now, largely because of The Rock’s indecisiveness.”
Rollins recently faced CM Punk at the Netflix debut of Monday Night RAW, a match that saw Punk emerge victorious. This loss, according to Bhatti, positions Rollins as the likely Royal Rumble winner. “The decision made by WWE on January 6, while finalizing some WrestleMania plans, was that Rollins and Punk needed to have more matches in their series. This wasn’t ever going to be a one-and-done feud,” Bhatti explained.
Adding to the intrigue, Bhatti hinted at potential drama in the Rumble match itself. “You might even see a spot at the Rumble where Rollins ruins Punk’s dream by eliminating him last. Rollins would then emerge as the Royal Rumble winner and the number one contender, while Punk takes an alternative path.”
The Rock’s uncertainty about his involvement at WrestleMania has reportedly left WWE in limbo, with plans for Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and even CM Punk hanging in the balance. Bhatti noted, “If The Rock decides he’s not doing the show… things will change. The guy is being a complete prick, playing a lot of people here. He’s not giving any straight answers.”
With Rollins potentially winning the Royal Rumble and continuing his feud with Punk, WWE could be building toward an epic clash between the two at WrestleMania 41. Whether this means another singles match or a more complex storyline remains to be seen, but it’s clear Rollins is a major player heading into WrestleMania season.
