John Cena’s retirement tour officially kicked off during WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix on January 6, where Cena cut a huge promo about his plans and declared himself for the Royal Rumble. Since then, fans have been wondering whether Cena will actually win the Rumble this year and now WWE’s current stance on Cena winning the Rumble has been revealed.
While speaking during a Q&A Session on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes was asked whether John Cena will win the Royal Rumble this year. He reported that WWE is strongly considering John Cena to win the Royal Rumble. After his promo on RAW this week, the crowd reacted exactly as Cena had hoped.
It was noted that even before the promo, John Cena was already one of the favorites to win, and his promo on RAW this week made it even clearer that he’s WWE’s top choice to win the Rumble. Therefore, WrestleVotes noted that things are looking good for the Leader of Cenation at the moment.
“Yeah, especially after that promo last night, everybody in attendance gave him the reaction he was looking for, and they wanna see #17. We had heard that he was one of the leaders in the clubhouse prior to last night, and last night only solidified that he’s choice #1 or 1A. So yeah, I’d say it looks good at this point.”
The Royal Rumble Premium Live Event is set for February 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium, and fans are eagerly waiting for WWE to make history at the event. Now that John Cena’s retirement tour has begun, every match he has feels more special to fans around the world.
