The January 7 episode of WWE NXT was the New Year’s Evil special edition of the show and it was truly a memorable show from top to bottom. However, it appears that NXT had to delay the broadcast for the show in Los Angeles due to the devastating wildfire there.
According to PWInsider, a representative from KTLA confirmed that due to ongoing news coverage of the Pacific Palisades fires, WWE NXT will air on Wednesday, January 8, at 8 PM Pacific in Los Angeles.
The wildfire in Los Angeles spread quickly through an upscale area on Tuesday as firefighters worked to control it during a strong windstorm in Southern California. Over 250 firefighters, along with helicopters and fire engines, were deployed to fight the fire, which started on 20 acres but grew to more than 1,200 acres in just a few hours.
While no injuries have been reported at the moment, more than 30,000 people are under evacuation orders, with over 13,000 buildings and 10,000 homes at risk. Therefore, while the delay of New Year’s Evil was a disappointment for NXT fans in Los Angeles, the safety and well-being of those affected by the wildfire take top priority.
