The Rock’s WWE return has been a major talking point, especially with his appearance at the WWE Raw Netflix debut. But it turns out, when it comes to WrestleMania 41, The Rock has other ideas.

According to Billi Bhatti’s report on the Dirty Sheets Backstage Informer podcast, The Rock is pushing for the spotlight to shine on John Cena at this year’s event, signaling a shift in plans for his own storyline.

Bhatti revealed that The Rock has expressed to WWE that he feels WrestleMania 41 should mainly focus on Cena, with his own return and storyline with Cody Rhodes potentially taking a backseat.

“The official reason being given by The Rock to WWE is that he feels that this year’s WrestleMania should mainly be John Cena and that he’s willing to wait to pick up his storyline with Cody Rhodes,” Bhatti shared. “This wasn’t 100 percent decided and it’s still not 100 percent decided.”

Despite The Rock’s preference to delay his storyline, Nick Khan, the WWE CEO, still wants The Rock involved in WrestleMania 41, preferably in a major main event match—either against Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns. Bhatti hinted that while Triple H might be moving on from this, the reason for the shift in plans isn’t entirely clear.

“The Rock suggested WWE make it more about John Cena and that his storyline could wait, but that isn’t the truth to why we are where we are at,” Bhatti noted.

The Rock’s decision to step aside and let John Cena take the lead at WrestleMania 41 certainly raises eyebrows, but with his star power, it’s clear he’s got the clout to shape WWE’s biggest event. Whether he ends up in a marquee match or continues to play the waiting game with his storyline, one thing’s for sure—when The Rock finally steps back into the ring, it’ll be nothing short of electric. The question now is whether WWE can keep fans hooked until then, or if Cena will carry the torch into the biggest show of the year. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments below!
