AEW brought a big episode of Dynamite for their January 8 episode. They were setting the stage for 2025, and Jon Moxley needed someone to face to defend his AEW World Title. They did that with a Casino Gauntlet match this week.
The winner of the Casino Gauntlet match would get a shot at Jon Moxley’s AEW World Title during the January 15 episode of Dynamite. Naturally, everyone in this match gave their all to claim that match.
This match kicked off with 20 minutes to go in the first hour. Hangman Page and Jay White were the first two in the contest. Then Wheeler Yuta joined the match next.
Swerve Strickland’s music hit as the fifth entrant in this match, but then Ricochet came out instead. Then they went to commercial break as the match continued.
Adam Cold joined the match just after they came back from commercial break, and that brought a big pop from the crowd. He didn’t have time for his full entrance though, because he got right down to business.
Daniel Garcia came out next, and the TNT Champion was ready to get an even bigger belt. Then Powerhouse Hobbs joined the match to throw some people around. They went to another commercial break after that.
Roderick Strong of the Undisputed Kingdom came in next, which was good news for Adam Cole to have an ally in the match. Then Lance Archer joined the melee. Then Kyle O’Reilly’s music hit, meaning the Undisputed Kingdom was highly represented.
Jeff Jarrett came out next, but Wheeler Yuta jumped him and beat him around the arena and sent him to the back instead. This took away Double J’s opportunity. Then Powerhouse Hobbs was able to pull off the pinfall after that.
At AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage, Jon Moxley will defend his AEW World Title against Powerhouse Hobbs. That should be quite a match. After the match was over, Powerhouse Hobbs cut a promo with Renee Paquette in the ring, and he said that he will make Moxley his bitch next week.
