AEW’s attempt to spotlight Dynamite on Max hasn’t gone as planned, and the latest tweet from the company promoting their January 8 show only added fuel to the fire. The official AEW account tweeted a video urging fans to watch Dynamite on Max, but instead of rallying support, the comment section became a hub for fans to troll the company and air their grievances.

“ATTENTION, AEW AUDIENCE! AEW is now streaming on @SportsOnMax! Don’t miss #AEWDynamite on Wednesdays LIVE at 8pm ET/7pm CT!” the tweet read. However, fans were quick to roast the message, with responses calling out everything from the lack of picture-in-picture during broadcasts to comparisons with WWE’s Netflix debut.

One fan sarcastically wrote, “Please bring Picture-In-Picture to @StreamOnMax; or even better, just ditch the commercials on Max.” Another didn’t hold back, posting a GIF of the Netflix logo, referencing WWE RAW’s highly successful debut on the streaming giant earlier this week.

The frustration didn’t stop there. Comments like “PLEASE WATCH ON MAX SO WE CAN BLAME OUR SH*TTY RATINGS ON THAT!” and “Netflix making Tony lose his f***ing marbles. 😂” dominated the thread, while others pointed out AEW’s struggles to break into Max’s Top 10 streaming rankings. “Shame 😂😂 the first weeks were not that good huh? Couldn’t even reach top 10 on your premiere. Yet RAW is #1 on Netflix UK and US,” a fan remarked, summing up the sentiment.

Fans also called out AEW’s broader strategy, with one user writing, “Terrible business model with no intentions of growing interest in the product.” Another took a jab at the promotion’s audience size, sarcastically commenting, “I’m sure all 53 people will watch.”

Despite AEW’s efforts to draw attention to their Max streaming deal, the backlash in the comments section highlights growing dissatisfaction among viewers, particularly regarding Dynamite’s presentation on the platform. The absence of picture-in-picture, combined with the presence of commercials on an ad-free tier, has only fueled the negativity.
