WWE’s Monday Night RAW Netflix debut had fans glued to their screens on January 6, but one moment many were hoping for didn’t happen.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Penta El Zero Miedo was originally slated to make his WWE debut during the broadcast but was pulled at the last minute.

Teaser vignettes for Penta have been airing on WWE programming for weeks, including another cryptic video during RAW that confirmed he’ll be using the name “Penta” in WWE. Despite growing anticipation, Meltzer reported that “a lot of stuff” was cut or altered for the Netflix premiere, with Penta’s debut being one of the major changes.

The Lucha Libre star has been the center of speculation since departing AEW, where his brother, Fenix, remains under contract. Penta has been keeping busy with AAA and other promotions, fueling excitement for his arrival on WWE’s RAW roster. While his debut didn’t happen on Netflix’s big night, fans can rest easy knowing Penta’s WWE journey is still on the horizon.

The clarification from Fightful Select also addressed false claims, stating, “There are incorrect reports claiming that we reported Penta wasn’t debuting tonight. We never reported that, and don’t have that information.”

Penta’s WWE debut may be taking longer than expected, but the anticipation is only building. With cryptic vignettes and fan speculation reaching a fever pitch, WWE seems to be setting the stage for something unforgettable. Whether his debut comes next week or at a bigger event, one thing’s for sure: when Penta finally steps into a WWE ring, the wrestling world will be watching.
