CM Punk made his presence felt behind the scenes at WWE’s NXT New Year’s Evil taping this week.
The show, held at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, saw Punk backstage just one night after his victory against Seth Rollins during Monday’s monumental Raw debut on Netflix.
Fresh off the main event win, Punk remained in Los Angeles, the same city that hosted Monday’s Raw, and was spotted backstage during the NXT taping. While he didn’t appear on-screen, Punk’s attendance added a notable presence to the already star-studded event.
CM Punk being backstage at NXT events isn’t anything new as he attended several of them in the past, with the most recent one being on the December 17, 2024 taping. The wrestling legend was “keeping a ‘close eye’ on rehearsals” at the event, which took place at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Massachusetts.
NXT New Year’s Evil featured an electric atmosphere with The Rock delivering a passionate promo and several major matches throughout the night. Punk’s appearance further highlights the importance of the week for WWE as they kick off 2025 in a major way.
