WWE RAW’s Netflix debut was nothing short of monumental, with CM Punk and Seth Rollins delivering a main event that lived up to its WrestleMania-caliber expectations. Held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on January 6, the event made history, closing the night with a match fans had been waiting years to see.
As the match entered overtime, the intensity reached its peak. Rollins delivered a Pedigree on the announce table, injuring his knee in the process. Back in the ring, he landed another Pedigree, nearly securing the win. But CM Punk turned the tide, countering a top-rope move into a Go To Sleep, then delivering a second GTS to seal the victory. Originally slated for WrestleMania 40, this epic showdown finally unfolded on RAW’s groundbreaking Netflix premiere.
During the post-show press conference, CM Punk didn’t hold back when discussing his thoughts on Seth Rollins and whether their feud is truly over.
“I’d love to say that was the one and only time that I have to deal with Seth Rollins, but we know that’s not going to be the truth,” Punk admitted. “I feel like Drew McIntyre was a challenge, just trying to get rid of him. I don’t see Seth rolling over and going to sleep, so to speak. I hope he is up all night with nightmares of me driving my knee into his face.”
In a surprising turn, Punk also expressed some guilt over his iconic finisher, the Go To Sleep. “I’ve been driving my knee into people’s faces for years, and I’m starting to feel bad about it. After taking a couple of those from Seth tonight, I can honestly say it sucks,” Punk confessed.
The Second City Savior left the press conference with no definitive answers about what’s next, but it’s clear this rivalry is far from over.
As WrestleMania season kicks into gear, fans are left wondering how many more times these two titans will clash. Will CM Punk and Seth Rollins face off again, or does the WWE Universe have new rivalries to look forward to?
