CM Punk and Seth Rollins have a lot of bad blood between them, and they’ll finally face each other on RAW this week. Ahead of the show, CM Punk took a dig at Rollins and his fans and he also believes that his feud with Rollins might not end with just this match.
While speaking to the Nightcap podcast, CM Punk was asked if he had a message for Seth Rollins’ fans. The Second City Saint pulled no punches but kept it short and sweet. He stated that, much like he had told Mr. Ochocinco, there’s always next year. He also told Rollins’ fans to cry about it but Monday Night RAW isn’t going to be their night.
“I would say the same thing I just said to Mr. Ochocinco: you know, there’s always next year. Cry, cry, cry about it. I get it, but, you know, tomorrow’s not your night.”
CM Punk was then asked if his match with Seth Rollins on RAW this week would be the end of their feud. Punk expressed skepticism, noting that their issues have been building for over ten years and won’t be resolved easily. He compared their rivalry to the famous Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage feud and said it’s likely to keep going, no matter how big the stage or event is.
“I would love to say, when it comes to me, I don’t know if they just didn’t have a strong father figure or whatever. But no, I—I—I would love to say I’m moving on to bigger and better things. I’d love to be wrong about that, too, but I—I—I think this is one of those Hogan-Savage deals that’s going to go on for as long as the beef has already been festering. You know, we’re talking 10-plus years—a decade here. I don’t think even a big night on Netflix, no matter how bright the lights are, is going to resolve this. I think this one’s going to fester for a while.”
The Second City Saint and Seth Rollins will battle each other on the January 6 debut of Monday Night RAW on Netflix and fans can expect it to be one of the best matches in recent memory. With years of tension building up and the stakes at their peak, fans are in for an epic match on RAW. Whether it ends their rivalry or takes it to the next level, one thing is clear: Punk and Rollins are going to tear the house down.
