Triple H isn’t closing the door on anyone. Speaking on the SI Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina, the WWE Chief Content Officer addressed whether there’s anyone the company wouldn’t bring back. While admitting there are cases where some individuals’ past actions make their return a negative, Triple H emphasized his willingness to have conversations with anyone, leaving the door open for potential business.

“There are people out there and I would say because of things they did that you just can’t get outside of the scope of, that would be a negative, no matter how you cut it, it would be a negative,” Triple H said. “But I would always be open to the conversation. No matter who it was.”

As an example, Triple H reflected on his discussions with CM Punk before Punk’s surprise WWE return at Survivor Series 2023. Their history was rocky, but Triple H revealed he approached the conversation with a mindset of growth and change.

“When Punk and I were having these conversations with Nick [Khan], and going through all this, one of the very first things I said when I got on the phone is, ‘I just want to clear the air here. I’m not the same guy I was 10, 15 years ago. If I was, I wasted 10, 15 years of my life.’”

Triple H explained that he assumed Punk had also evolved over the years, using that as the foundation to rebuild their professional relationship.

“I would believe, Phil, that you’re not the same person you were 10 years ago and you have changed, and I am going to assume that. Let’s both assume that like everything else—bad thoughts or whatever, real or imagined—let’s just rid ourselves of them and say, ‘These are two new people that are going to talk about doing business together.’”

Triple H made it clear that his philosophy isn’t limited to Punk. He pointed to his experiences with Bruno Sammartino and The Ultimate Warrior as proof that past differences can be set aside for the right reasons.

“Everybody changes. Everybody grows. Everybody moves on—whether positively or negatively. And I think that things that people did in the past, whatever bad blood, sometimes people can overcome for the right reasons. I believe that now. I believed that years ago when I was talking to Bruno. I believed that when I was talking to Warrior.”

As for whether WWE is open to working with controversial figures in the future, Triple H summed it up: “I will never say never. We will have to see.”

Triple H’s comments suggest that while some situations may be challenging, he believes in the power of growth and reconciliation, making the WWE landscape more unpredictable than ever.

Sounds like Triple H is all about keeping the possibilities open and focusing on growth. Whether it’s bridging gaps with legends like Bruno and Warrior or rebuilding relationships with stars like CM Punk, it’s clear he’s ready to do business if the time and circumstances are right. In WWE, you truly never know who might walk back through the curtain.
