Triple H Addresses Stephanie McMahon’s WWE Absence and Potential Comeback

Triple H has given fans an update on whether Stephanie McMahon might ever return to WWE, and his response paints a picture of someone deeply committed to her family and personal passions. Speaking on the SI Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina, Triple H didn’t shy away from his desire to see his wife back in the wrestling business but acknowledged that her priorities have shifted.

“I would love Steph back,” Triple H said. “Here is the thing with her. She stepped away—our kids are at an age. We got one in college, and over the next four years, the rest will be in college. We have three girls, and it’s a really formative time, a really enjoyable time having some downtime.”

Stephanie McMahon stepped away from her roles in WWE in early 2023, leaving fans wondering if her absence was permanent. According to Triple H, the decision was largely influenced by her focus on family and other passions, including her advocacy for pediatric cancer.

“She’s busy,” Triple H continued. “She has a lot of passions, and pediatric cancer is a big thing for her. She’s doing some stuff. She is still up-to-speed on a lot of the stuff we are doing and clearly has her takes and opinions on things. It’s wonderful when she can be around.”

Despite her absence from WWE, it’s clear Stephanie hasn’t completely closed the door on returning to the company in some capacity. However, the time commitment required is a significant factor in her decision-making.

“I think she will always have a passion for this,” Triple H said. “Whether she decides to come in and do some stuff, I think she weighs that on her mind all the time. It’s that, ‘Oh, I want to do that, but I have to give up all this time with my kids that I’ll never get back again.’ It’s that saying where you get to spend 80 percent of your time with your kids until they turn 18, and then it’s over. She’s very aware of that and is enjoying her time with them very much so. Giving that up would be a tough push right now.”

Ending the conversation on a teasing note, Triple H added, “Maybe you will see her around, maybe on Netflix.”

Sounds like Stephanie McMahon is living her best life right now, balancing family time and her passion projects with grace. While Triple H keeps the door open for her WWE return, it’s clear she’s savoring every moment with her daughters and making an impact outside the wrestling ring. Never say never in the world of WWE, but for now, Steph seems perfectly content writing her own script.
