NJPW Negotiating New Deals as Key Talent’s Contracts Near Expiry

NJPW hosted Wrestle Kingdom 19 and Wrestle Dynasty this week, showcasing the company’s bright future and the talent who will lead the company into a new era. However, several top stars have contracts expiring soon. While fans speculate about what’s next for these wrestlers, NJPW is working on new deals with current talent and looking to sign fresh faces.

According to Fightful Select, NJPW is actively negotiating with several wrestlers whose contracts are set to expire soon. The company is also exploring the possibility of bringing in new talent to strengthen its roster.

Regarding the current crop of talent whose contracts are expiring, the likes of Drilla Moloney, a key member of the War Dogs faction as well as former IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay stand out. In addition to them, even Gabe Kidd’s contract is nearing its expiry, but it was noted that NJPW is keen on re-signing him.

The wrestling free-agent market is more competitive than ever, with promotions like AEW, WWE, and others eager to secure talent that could redefine their rosters in 2025. It remains to be seen if any of the mentioned NJPW stars will leave the company when their contracts expire.
