Former WWE star and pro wrestling legend Black Bart previously a brave choice to stop chemotherapy as he battles stage four colon cancer. His family has recently revealed that he is now in hospice care, focusing on being comfortable and spending time with loved ones.
In an update on Facebook, his family explained, “We decided to let people know Bart is on hospice. He is no longer taking chemo, and his cancer was stage 4 when diagnosed in 2022.” They also shared that this is a time for family, saying, “Immediate family comes first, but we’ll update fans when we can. We love you all!”
The post also noted that it’s now too late to send autograph requests but thanked fans for their continued prayers and love. The family reassured everyone that Bart is being kept “comfortable and pain-free” during this time.
It was previously revealed that Bart decided to stop chemotherapy because it made him feel worse each time. Black Bart’s wife Linda, who has been by his side, explained, “Each time he’s done it, he’s felt worse.” Despite the challenges, Bart remained positive and at peace. Linda added, “He’s prayed up and ready to go. He’s ready to meet his maker, so it’s a win-win situation. When it’s time to go to heaven, he knows where he’s going.”
