WWE Superstar Bronson Reed has revealed the full extent of the injury he suffered at Survivor Series, and it’s far worse than initial reports suggested.
Reed sustained the injury during a jaw-dropping moment when he leapt off the top of the cage and crashed through a table. WWE later announced he had broken his foot, but Reed took to social media on January 6 to clarify the severity of his condition.
“Let’s clear up some things. Dirt sheets report ankle fracture or injury,” Reed wrote. “I unfortunately smashed my talus bone completely in half. I had it surgically repaired with screws and fragments taken out. Also had some bone marrow taken from my hip and put into my foot.”
Reed’s post revealed that the injury would keep him out of action for several major WWE events, including RAW’s Netflix premiere, the Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania. “Now this means I won’t be at RAW Netflix Premiere, don’t expect a Rumble surprise, and the biggest loss is no Mania,” he explained.
The talus bone is a critical part of the ankle and foot, and Reed emphasized the seriousness of the injury and surgery. “Understand I’ve had a serious injury, undergone serious surgery, and have serious implications from that. It’s not merely a fracture!”
Fans and fellow wrestlers have rallied around Reed as he begins his recovery, with many expressing support and well wishes on social media. For now, Reed is encouraging fans to keep up with him online as he focuses on healing and a potential return to the ring.
Bronson Reed’s devastating injury is a tough blow for both him and his fans, as it sidelines him from some of WWE’s biggest events of the year. While the road to recovery won’t be easy, Big Bronson’s determination and transparency show he’s ready to tackle this challenge head-on. Here’s hoping we see him back in the ring stronger than ever.
