As WWE rings in the new year with its first-ever three-hour SmackDown, one show has quietly disappeared from the lineup. After running since October 2020, the post-SmackDown recap show SmackDown Lowdown is no longer airing on Peacock or WWE Network.
The show, typically hosted by Scott Stanford and Megan Morant, provided a 30-minute recap of SmackDown’s biggest moments and exclusive backstage interviews with WWE Superstars. Fans expecting to tune in for the December 27 episode after SmackDown in Phoenix were left puzzled when the show was nowhere to be found.
Responding to a fan inquiry on X, Stanford confirmed the show’s fate, saying, “It is not! All wrapped up.” Stanford, a WWE veteran since 2009, shared no further details about the cancellation, leaving fans to wonder why WWE decided to pull the plug without an official announcement.
This isn’t the first time WWE has axed a post-SmackDown show. The beloved Talking Smack, hosted by Renee Paquette and Daniel Bryan, was canceled in 2018 after a two-year run.
Meanwhile, WWE is preparing to experiment with a Raw post-show following the January 6 debut of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The post-show, set to air on WWE’s YouTube and social media channels, will feature Joe Tessitore, Wade Barrett, and Big E as hosts. A press conference is also planned, mirroring the format of Premium Live Event broadcasts.
It’s unclear if the Raw post-show will become a regular feature or if it’s a one-time deal to mark Raw’s Netflix debut. If it becomes permanent, it could signal the end of Raw Talk, much like SmackDown Lowdown.
