Drew McIntyre isn’t holding back when it comes to his playful jabs at Cody Rhodes. After their surprising interaction on the January 3 episode of WWE SmackDown, McIntyre took to Twitter on December 4 with a cheeky post that has fans talking.
“I just wanted a good look at that tattoo. I can confirm it’s even funnier up close,” McIntyre wrote, attaching a photo of the moment he hugged Cody during SmackDown’s opening segment. The tweet, of course, references Cody’s infamous neck tattoo, which has been a frequent topic of discussion among fans.
The interaction on SmackDown saw McIntyre interrupt Cody’s promo, only to surprise everyone by hugging him instead of continuing his usual aggressive antics. The moment caught fans off guard, especially considering McIntyre’s recent alliance with Roman Reigns and his storied past with CM Punk.
Despite the hug, McIntyre warned Cody to be cautious, reminding him that he’s not cleared to compete after Kevin Owens’ piledriver. Cody, true to form, brushed off the advice, leading to a chaotic brawl with Owens later in the segment.
McIntyre, who has had a rollercoaster year feuding with CM Punk and the Original Bloodline, seems to be carving a new path on SmackDown. But his Twitter antics prove he’s still got time to keep things entertaining both in and out of the ring.
