Tony Khan is very happy to plug his company’s big moves in the entertainment world. This is something that he probably won’t give much time to on social media.

AEW Collision will air for the first time on MAX, but that’s not the only first for the company tonight. AEW’s Saturday night show will also air live in Canada on the USA Network for the first time.

Canadian AEW fans will see a big change to their weekly viewing habits as AEW Collision will start airing on the USA Network in Canada starting January 1, 2025, with their first episode going down tonight. Bell Media’s Discovery Channel is rebranding to the USA Network, and that will include introducing a new lineup of programming. AEW Collision is a part of that re-branding, which could be a wise addition to the channel’s revamped schedule.

In an apparent crossing of wires, AEW Collision’s wallpaper for their slot on the channel guide in Canada shows CM Punk. He is the only star shown for the listing as well, so this is quite a botch.

While AEW Collision was originally developed to be CM Punk’s show, he hasn’t been on the program in a very long time. Tony Khan actually arranged the show’s roster to be only people that Punk wanted to work with. Now that he is gone, that separation has gone to the wayside.

AEW released CM Punk from his contract in September 2023. It didn’t take him very long to end up in WWE, as he made his big Survivor Series return in 2023 that shook Chicago. It seems that AEW hasn’t fully distanced themselves from Punk.

It is very interesting that CM Punk appeared in the listing for AEW Collision’s USA Network banner for Canadian fans on their channel guide. Some fans may be very confused when they see this. Only time will tell how long it takes for them to switch this back to a more current graphic.

Do you think featuring CMPunk as the spotlight for AEW Collision was accidental or do you think there is more to it? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
