Sammy Guevara Reacts to Tay Melo In-Ring Return at STARDOM

Tay Melo’s long-awaited in-ring return may not have ended in victory, but it certainly made an impact.

Competing at STARDOM’s New Year Dream event at Tokyo Garden Theater on January 3, Melo teamed up with Mina Shirakawa in a tag match against Athena and Thekla. While the match ended with Athena pinning Melo after an O-Face, fans were captivated by her performance after nearly two years away from the ring.

In a heartfelt show of support, Melo’s husband, Sammy Guevara, took to social media to praise her resilience and determination. Guevara tweeted, “Mother, Wife, and a F***ING BADASS! I know how much you had to go through to be able to come back, and you did an amazing job. Be proud mama! ❤️ @taymelo.”

Melo’s return showcased her skill set, delivering a piledriver on Athena and a high-flying dive from the top rope, proving she hasn’t missed a beat. Her last match before this return was back in March 2023, where she and Guevara teamed up for a win at NEW Wrestlefest XXVII.

While her STARDOM comeback may not have ended in a victory, it’s clear that Melo’s journey to this point has been nothing short of inspiring. Whether she continues in STARDOM or makes her way back to AEW, fans are just happy to see her back in action.
