WWE SmackDown brought a huge show for their January 3 episode with a landmark episode from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The night was filled with big segments, and Paul Heyman’s appearance is usually notable.

Heyman was in the ring as the second hour of the show kicked off, and he had the crowd in Phoenix in the palm of his hand. He was out to set the record straight about the upcoming Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa.

Paul Heyman made it clear that he and Roman trained Solo to be the next in line to be Tribal Chief. He was prepared for that moment, but then Solo took it early. Roman Reigns isn’t ready to step down, and that was a problem.

Heyman said that Solo Sikoa stole the Ulla Falla, and then he went out and got a “band of filthy animals who don’t even belong in professional wrestling.” He made it very clear that Tribal Combat will have no rules, except there must be a winner and a loser, and the winner will be the Tribal Chief. The Wise Man then said that Roman Reigns will win that match and become the only Tribal Chief.

Before Heyman could leave, Solo Sikoa’s music hit, and that stopped him. Solo appeared on the entrance ramp, and he made his way to the ring. Sikoa was alone, but Heyman said that he’s “five seconds away from pissing in my pants,” because of the brutality that Solo put Heyman through a few months ago.

Sikoa said that Heyman owes CM Punk a favor, but he wants to do him a favor. Then Solo Sikoa offered to Heyman that he holds the Ulla Falla during the Tribal Combat match. He said that Heyman respects his family and would never disrespect the Ulla Falla, and he wanted Heyman to be the man who holds that treasure at ringside. Whoever wins the match will have Heyman place the Ulla Falla around their neck.

Solo Sikoa vs Roman Reigns may have been a match that WWE considered for WrestleMania 41. There are a couple matches that are happening during the January 6 episode of RAW that the company considered for the show of shows.

CM Punk was brought into the situation thanks to Paul Heyman, when the Wise Man returned and announced that Punk was on the OG Bloodline’s WarGames team. In the end, Punk helped Roman Reigns pull off that big win. Heyman also owes Punk a favor, but he will cash it in later on.
