Drew McIntyre captured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL, but his reign was cut short when Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract thanks to CM Punk. That being said, McIntyre has other fish to fry right now.

In the end, Drew McIntyre feuded with CM Punk. Their rivalry peaked at WWE Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match, where Punk emerged victorious. Since returning on the December 2 episode of WWE Raw, McIntyre has built momentum while setting his sights on the Original Bloodline.

While speaking with The Ringer, Drew McIntyre reflected on the past year and how his mindset has shifted. Right now, it’s not about winning the World Title, which is crazy for him to acknowledge.

“I never thought it’d be a point in my career where I said, ‘Currently, I don’t care about the world title. I don’t care about my legacy like I used to, because inevitably, people are just going to forget. I got more of an emotional response from anybody [than] I’ve ever gotten in my entire career, be it on TV, online, to live crowds. Drew McIntyre was not included in the Netflix promo for RAW’s impending debut. He spoke about that, and it only gave him more motivation to make 2025 an even bigger year.

We will have to see what’s next for Drew McIntyre. The former World Champion could have a title run in his future, but right now he is set on telling the best story, no matter what’s on the line.
