WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been associated with AEW for quite a while now, which is why fans wanted him to appear on the January 4th edition of AEW Collision in Charlotte, North Carolina. In fact, the scrapped plans for Flair’s appearance on the show have been revealed.
According to PWInsider, Ric Flair was scheduled to make a cameo appearance during the January 4th edition of AEW Collision at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, he will not be part of the show, something that Flair already confirmed as well.
Instead, wrestling legends The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, will step into the role of local icons for the event. The duo is also expected to appear at another AEW event in the near future.
The Nature Boy has not been seen on AEW television since the Revolution pay-per-view last year, where he was attacked by The Young Bucks during their match against Sting and Darby Allin. It’s unclear why Flair will no longer appear for Collision this week, so it remains to be seen whether Flair will make his return to AEW television in the future, as it seems uncertain at the moment.
