Samantha Irvin’s presence backstage at AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen may have sparked curiosity among fans, but any hopes of seeing her on-screen are being put on hold.

According to PWInsider, the former WWE ring announcer is under a no-compete clause that bars her from appearing on any combat sports programming, including AEW.

Irvin, who attended the show in Asheville, North Carolina, was there to support her husband, Ricochet, who delivered a shocking heel turn on Swerve Strickland during the event. While her backstage visit led to whispers about a potential role in AEW, sources confirm that Irvin’s contractual obligations with WWE prevent her from making any appearances for the time being.

Irvin announced her WWE departure in October 2024, citing her desire to focus on music and other creative projects. Fans fondly remember her as a dynamic and engaging voice on WWE programming, and while her no-compete clause currently limits her options, her future in the wrestling industry remains a topic of interest.

As for her AEW visit, it seems Irvin was simply there in a personal capacity, much like WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, who was present to support her husband, Adam Copeland. For now, Irvin’s focus appears to be on pursuits outside the wrestling ring, leaving fans to wonder if and when she’ll make her return to the industry.
