Randy Orton has not been seen on WWE television for quite a while and it’s already been reported he will not be returning during WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025. That being said, the potential timeline for Orton’s television return has been revealed.

During a Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes addressed a fan question about Orton’s comeback to television. WrestleVotes noted that The Apex Predator is likely to return by the Royal Rumble on February 1st, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, or even earlier than that.

“By the Royal Rumble, you know, if not on February 1st, it’ll be beforehand. So yeah, very soon.”

Randy Orton’s last match took place on October 25 on SmackDown, where he teamed up with Cody Rhodes to face Imperium’s GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser. On November 8, Kevin Owens attacked Orton with a piledriver. Doctors later stated Orton had cervical cord neuropraxia, and there was no clear date for his return as he was written off WWE television, and it’s been a waiting game when it comes to his comeback since then.

Considering the fact that Kevin Owens will be facing off against Cody Rhodes at the event in a ladder match, it would not be a surprise if The Viper makes his return during the show and costs The Prizefighter the match, as Orton obviously wants to exact revenge on Kevin Owens for putting him on the shelf. Therefore, we’ll have to see if Orton does return during the Royal Rumble, if not earlier.
