R-Truth has been constantly entertaining fans as part of his second run in WWE, being part of numerous moments. While he’s still an active in-ring competitor, time will eventually catch up to him and now R-Truth has addressed eventually retiring from in-ring competition.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, R-Truth talked about the idea of retiring from professional wrestling. Truth stated that he enjoys competing inside the squared circle. He compared himself to Rey Mysterio, saying he lets his body guide him when it comes to making decisions about his career.
Truth feels healthier than ever, with a clear mind and the ability to still perform moves like backflips and other actions that this generation hasn’t seen from him yet. While he doesn’t feel the need to do everything, he’s confident that if given the chance, he can still impress fans with his abilities. R-Truth stated that he doesn’t focus on how much longer he’ll be active in the ring, believing that the right time for change will come naturally.
“I like being in the ring. I’m like Rey Mysterio with this right here, I let my body be the guide and be the answer to that. I always listen to my body and right now, I’ve never felt as healthy as I do now. Clear minded, clear-headed. Still can do my backflips and spits, there’s a lot of things this generation hasn’t seen me do yet that I can still do. Like you said, I don’t need to do it, but given an opportunity, I can go out there and show that, ‘Oh s*** he can still go.’ I don’t think about how much longer I can do this for. I never think about time, it’ll come to me. I think every answer we seek and look for, will come to us in due time.”
R-Truth is 52 years old and can still go inside the squared circle, so we will have to wait and see when he will finally hang up his pro wrestling boots for good. In the meantime, he will continue to entertain fans as much as possible.
