The pro wrestling world is bound to see wrestlers leave companies all around the world, and some of them may end up in WWE. That being said, one popular rumor was squashed in a big way after a rumor went viral.
During 2024, WWE NXT saw some big debuts for their women’s division. Stephanie Vaquer, Zaria, and Giulia have really shaken things up. Although La Hiedra from AAA may be a great candidate for a WWE jump, it doesn’t appear that is a reality at this time.
In response to a post saying that NXT is interested in signing La Hiedra after her contract with Lucha Libre AAA in Mexico is up, Lucha Blog had to say something. The well-known lucha insider account made it clear that this was just engagement farming, because there is no truth to the story.
“this is an engagement bait account making up something that mexican wrestling engagement accounts have jumped upon because engagement is all that matters.”
In case you weren’t aware, La Hiedra is a 27-year-old who has earned a fair amount of attention in Mexico. She was trained by her father, Sangre Chicana and debuted in November 2010 on the independent circuit. Over the next year, she wrestled in a few different companies without a contract, where she raked up some good matches and experience.
In June 2015, La Hiedra joined AAA, and she continues with them to this day. It appears that there isn’t much truth to WWE getting her to leave AAA, either, according to Lucha Blog’s recent post.
We will have to see what happens in WWE NXT throughout 2025. Odds are, we will see some exciting additions, because there are always people on WWE’s radar. Only time will tell if they ever do actually have a conversation with La Hiedra about coming aboard.
