Cody Rhodes’ WWE future has been a hot topic ahead of Monday Night RAW’s historic Netflix debut on January 6, 2025. Fans have speculated whether Rhodes might be leaving SmackDown for RAW, but Sean Ross Sapp offered clarity during his Fightful Select podcast.

Addressing the rumors, Sapp shared, “I would imagine probably both, and a big part of that is Netflix requested that. Netflix wants him a part of these upcoming shows.” Rhodes’ role on both brands appears to be part of WWE’s plan to deliver maximum star power for their streaming era.

Sapp also noted that WWE’s holiday tour wraps up in Detroit this week, leaving Rhodes free for both Monday and Friday night commitments. “It’s not unreasonable to believe that they would want him to work Mondays and Fridays,” Sapp continued. “So I wouldn’t doubt they make that happen.”

WWE’s strategy to include Rhodes, along with other major stars like Roman Reigns, John Cena, and CM Punk, is aimed at ensuring the Netflix premiere makes a lasting impact. While Rhodes may pull double duty, his mainstay role on SmackDown remains intact, per WWE’s current plans.
