TNA Wrestling began its rebirth in 2024, undergoing several significant changes to revitalize the brand. TNA’s future is bright after they were able to secure a multi-year deal with Sportsnet and it appears the network is heavily promoting TNA’s arrival on the network during WWE shows.
According to PWInsider, during last week’s Raw and Friday’s SmackDown, Sportsnet heavily promoted itself as the “new home” of TNA Wrestling. Ads for TNA aired during several commercial breaks, showing that Sportsnet is using WWE programming to help build excitement for TNA’s debut on the network after WWE leaves the network.
Starting Thursday, January 2, Impact Wrestling will air exclusively on Sportsnet 360 from 8–10 p.m. ET. This is a big milestone for the promotion, giving them a chance to expand their reach in Canada and attract more viewers to their product.
This deal comes as Sportsnet’s decade-long partnership with WWE comes to an end next year. This is because on January 6, WWE programming, including Raw, NXT, Friday Night SmackDown, and premium live events, will officially move to Netflix in Canada. Raw will be the first show to air on the platform, marking the beginning of this new partnership.
Sportsnet is going all out to introduce TNA Wrestling to its audience, making this a key moment for the promotion. Fans can expect exciting developments as TNA heads into 2025, so we’ll have to wait and see how beneficial TNA’s deal with Sportsnet will be in the end.
