Tessa Blanchard’s return to TNA Wrestling at the Final Resolution special set the wrestling world ablaze as she reignited her feud with Jordynne Grace. While some fans were thrilled to see the former TNA World Champion back in the ring, others weren’t as welcoming, given her controversial history both inside and outside the promotion.
Blanchard’s departure from TNA in 2020 was anything but smooth. She was stripped of the TNA World Title and fired after refusing to drop the belt as requested, citing concerns about traveling to the U.S. during the height of the pandemic. At the time, Blanchard feared she wouldn’t be able to return home to Mexico, where she was living.
The controversy didn’t stop there. Allegations of racial slurs and bullying behavior against Blanchard surfaced, with several wrestlers speaking out. However, in a surprising twist, Blanchard and La Rosa Negra—allegedly one of her targets—have since shared photos together, signaling that they may have resolved their issues privately.
Brian Myers weighed in on Blanchard’s return during a K & S WrestleFest virtual signing. “I think… everyone deserves a second chance. I missed all the drama that went on. It was before my time. So, I think time will tell. You got to rip the Band-Aid off, see what happens. I do think she’s a very talented performer. I don’t know her personally, like, whatsoever. So, it is what it is, you know?” Myers’ comments reflected a cautious optimism but left room for skepticism about her reintegration into the promotion.
Blanchard addressed her TNA return earlier this month during an interview with Contralona. She clarified that despite stepping back into the spotlight with the promotion, she is not under contract with TNA Wrestling. The terms of her involvement remain uncertain, leaving fans wondering if her return is a short-term storyline or a gateway to a permanent comeback.
Tessa Blanchard’s undeniable talent keeps her name relevant, but her controversial past still looms large. Can she mend relationships and prove her place in the industry, or will her return to TNA further divide opinions?
