Sabu doesn’t see himself joining the ranks of WWE’s Hall of Fame anytime soon. Known for his death-defying style and unforgettable rivalries, Sabu had only a brief stint in WWE during its ECW revival in 2006. Despite competing at WrestleMania 23 in a win alongside Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, and The Sandman, he feels his WWE tenure didn’t leave a Hall of Fame-worthy mark.

During a chat with DonutShopChronicles365 on YouTube, Sabu addressed the idea of a Hall of Fame induction and shut down the notion with his trademark bluntness.

“I don’t know. Probably never, really. I’m not eligible for the WWE Hall of Fame, not that I want to be anyway, because I didn’t have a Hall of Fame career while I was there,” he explained. Sabu remains open to other Hall of Fame recognitions but doesn’t count on one from WWE.

Sabu didn’t hold back when discussing the Hall of Fame’s legitimacy, pointing out celebrity inductees like Drew Carey as a reason why he’s not sold on the honor.

“I appreciate that [fan support]. Rob Van Dam is Hall of Fame material too, but is Drew Carey? Is Drew Carey Hall of Fame material? He goes in it, that means it’s going to be bullshit. If he’s in it, it’s bullshi*.”

While fans of hardcore wrestling would argue Sabu’s contributions to the sport make him a worthy candidate, the man himself isn’t chasing validation from WWE. Instead, Sabu seems content with the lasting impact he’s made on fans and the industry through his trailblazing work in ECW.

What do you think? Should Sabu get his place in the WWE Hall of Fame, or is the honor overrated? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
