Max Caster, known for his controversial and often edgy raps, has once again found himself at odds with AEW’s editorial decisions. During the December 27 episode of Rampage, one of Caster’s raps was edited out of the broadcast, and the AEW star didn’t hesitate to call out the company for the move.
Taking to Twitter, Caster vented his frustrations, accusing AEW of disrespecting his work and the art of hip-hop. “Since they cut my rap again, here’s what I said. Whoever decided to chop it up is a coward and has no respect for what I do or for hip-hop. @AEW,” he wrote.
The rap in question included references to Luigi Mangione, who is currently on trial for the alleged assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson—a topic that has become a hot-button issue. Caster’s unedited lines featured sharp commentary, including, “Chris, I don’t mess with the learning tree. Jericho is so high, I think he’s burning trees,” “He’s getting smoked like a bidi. Bowens lights you up like his name is Luigi,” and “You better worry about your welfare, like you work for United Healthcare.”
AEW’s decision to cut the rap from the final broadcast appears to stem from its controversial content, but Caster sees it as an infringement on his creative freedom. By sharing the uncut version on Twitter, he ensured that his words reached fans, even if they didn’t air on Rampage.
This isn’t the first time Max Caster’s raps have stirred tension with AEW, as his bold approach often challenges the fine line between creative expression and corporate oversight. His latest clash with the company raises questions about how far performers should be allowed to push boundaries in wrestling.
