WWE SmackDown Results (12/27/2024):

The show opens up with a video package of the ongoing heated rivalry between Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and “The Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens.

We then head to the back, where SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis says Kevin Owens is not a champion, but he is in possession of the Winged Eagle Championship. Aldis then says the championship represents greatness and Owens has no claim to the championship. Aldis then says Owens has until the end of the night to relinquish the championship or he will face severe consequences that will effect his future in WWE.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves then welcomes us to the show and Cathy Kelley is shown in Guerrilla interviewing WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Naomi and Bianca Belair. Naomi says she is grateful to hold the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Belair. Belair then says they won’t forget about what happened to Jade Cargill. Bayley then shows up and asks Belair if they are good. Belair says they are and then her music hit. All three women then made their way down to the ring for the first match of the night.

WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax then makes her way down to the ring with Candice LeRae and Jax has a microphone in hand and reiterates that they had nothing to do with Cargill’s attack and they didn’t mess with her. Jax then makes fun of Stratton and calls out Belair for doing fine without Cargill. Jax then says she thinks Belair is trying to avoid suspicion on Cargill. Jax then says Belair couldn’t stand the share the spotlight with Cargill because Cargill is better than her. Jax then says Belair snapped. Jax then tells Belair to own up to what she did or Jax will make her own up to it. Tiffany Stratton then makes her way down to the ring for the first match of the night.

6-Woman Tag Team Match: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair and Naomi and Bayley vs. WWE Women’s Champion “The Irresistible Force” Nia Jax, 2024 Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae

The match starts off with Bianca Belair and Candice LeRae. Both women lock up and they go back and forth, but Tiffany Stratton retreats to the outside. Bayley, Naomi and Belair then fly out of the ring to land on Jax, Stratton and LeRae. Belair then delivers some shoulders on Jax’s midsection in the corner and follows it up with right hands on her. Naomi then tags in and hits a dropkick on Jax, but Jax nails her with a spinebuster and goes for a pin. Naomi then kicks out and Jax tags in LeRae. Naomi then hits a Bulldog on LeRae in the corner, then tags in Belair. Belair and Naomi then hit a double suplex on LeRae and Naomi follows it up with a split legged moonsault. Belair then hits a springboard moonsault and goes for a pin on LeRae, but LeRae kicks out. Jax then tags in and hits a leg drop on Belair. Jax then goes for a pin, but Belair kicks out. Stratton then tags in and prevents Belair from tagging out to Bayley, but Belair nails Stratton with a forearm and tags in Bayley. LeRae then tags in on her side, but Bayley nails her with a knee. Jax then tags back in. LeRae and Naomi then tag in. Naomi then nails LeRae, then follows it up with a dropkick and a second kick on her chest. Naomi then hits a Tornado Style Bulldog on LeRae and goes for a pin, but LeRae kicks out. All six women then begin brawling with each other and Stratton grabs her Money In The Bank briefcase while Jax is down. Stratton then looks to cash it in, but LeRae grabs it from her. Stratton and LeRae then begin to argue, with Stratton telling LeRae that she wants to be champion. This then opens the door for Naomi to send LeRae crashing to the mat and pin LeRae for the win.

After the match, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair and Naomi and Bayley celebrate their win in the ring with a dance.

We then head to the back, where A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) is complaining to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis about Braun Strowman. Aldis then kicks them out of his office and tells Waller that he has a match with Strowman to prepare for. Sami Zayn then walks in and tells Aldis they need to talk.

We then see Sami Zayn still talking to Aldis. Zayn says he thinks it’s only fair he gets his crack at The Bloodline. Carmelo Hayes then shows up with Christmas cards to hand out and Zayn tells Carmelo to wait his turn. Zayn then crumples up a card and throws it in Carmelo’s face. Carmelo then tells Zayn to stay off his show. Zayn then tells Aldis that The Bloodline stuff can wait and instead he wants to face Carmelo later tonight. Aldis then says consider it done.

Braun Strowman then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and A-Town Down Under follows.

Singles Match: “The Monster Of All Monsters” Braun Strowman vs. A-Town Down Under’s Austin Theory

The match starts off with Braun Strowman shoving Austin Theory. Strowman then nails Theory with a clothesline and sends him into the corner, then tosses him across the ring and sends him to the outside. Theory then hits a chop block on Strowman and goes for a pin. Strowman then kicks out, sending Theory crashing out of the ring in the process. Strowman then hits a dropkick on Theory inside the ring that sends Theory crashing back to the outside, then sends him crashing into Waller and charges at both of them. Waller then ducks out of the way and Strowman nails Theory with a clothesline as Waller retreats into the crowd. Strowman then sends Theory back inside the ring and climbs up the ropes, but Waller reappears and pushes him off. Theory then gets Strowman up on his shoulders, but buckles under his weight. This then opens the door for Strowman to hit an over the shoulder powerslam on Theory for the win.

After the match, Strowman celebrates his win.

Kevin Owens then cuts a promo from his car and says he heard what Nick Aldis said. Owens then says he deserves to have the Winged Eagle Championship because he is the true WWE Champion. Owens then says he think he and Aldis need to have a discussion and he will come into the arena only on his terms, which means no security guards or office people, with just Aldis and himself. Owens then says if that happens, then they can talk.

Piper Niven is standing in the ring behind a podium and she introduces WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green. Green’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring dressed as the Statue Of Liberty. Green starts off by thanking the fans and saying she wants to take the time to say that she and the WWE Universe did it. Green then brags about being the inaugural Women’s United States Champion, then thanks herself rather than Niven for standing by her side. Green then tells Michin good riddance and says she is shocked Michin made it as far in the Women’s United States Championship Tournament as she did. Michin’s music then hits and she makes her way out with a kendo stick in hand. Michin says if it weren’t for Niven, she would have been the inaugural Women’s United States Champion. Michin then makes her way down to the ring and Niven meets her on the ramp. Michin then repeatedly hits Niven with the kendo stick, then enters the ring. Niven then pulls Green out of the ring before Michin can hit her with the kendo stick.

We then head to the back, where SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confronts WWE Tag Team Champions #DIY with The Street Profits about the attack on The Profits a few weeks ago. Aldis says they have two witnesses and Pretty Deadly appears. They try to extort Aldis to fund their musical, but he threatens their jobs. They then start to say Gargano, but instead say Los Garza when Johnny gives them a look. The Street Profits then ask if they are certain it was Los Garza and they say yes. The Profits then look for Los Garza and attack him in another backstage area and Aldis has them separated and makes a match for up next.

We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) vs. Los Garza (Angel and Berto)

The match starts off with Angelo Dawkins brawling with Angel as Berto goes at it with Montez Ford. Ford then nails Berto with a clothesline, then tags in Dawkins. Dawkins and Ford then hit a double flapjack on Berto, but Angel tags in and double teams on Ford with Berto. Angel then wears down Dawkins with a submission, then tags Berto back in. Dawkins then hits a right hand on Berto, then tags in Ford. Ford then hits Berto with a shoulder tackle and Dawkins assists him in hitting a moonsault. Berto then hits Ford with a boot, then double teams on him with Angel once again. Dawkins then tags in and sends Berto crashing into the mat. Ford then tags in and Dawkins gets Berto in an Electric Chair position as Ford climbs up the ropes, but Angel comes to Garza’s aid and Los Garza hits Ford with a double body slam. Berto then follows it up with a moonsault off the top and pins Ford, but Ford kicks out. Elektra Lopez then pulls Garza out of the ring before Ford and Dawkins can hit him, but B-Fab takes her down. Ford then sends Angel back inside the ring and tags in. The Street Profits then hit the Japanese Ocean Cyclone suplex-Blockbuster combination for the win.

We then see a video package on Andrade, where he says he will expose WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and prove that he is inevitable. Andrade vs. Shinsuke Nakamura is scheduled for next week’s episode of Smackdown, along with Nia Jax vs. Naomi.

Pretty Deadly are then shown walking backstage and they run into #DIY. Pretty Deadly say they scratched #DIY’s backs, so they hope they can scratch theirs. The Profits then show up and B-Fab tells Pretty Deadly they are thankful they told them the truth. The Profits then run into the Motor City Machine Guns, who say they deserve a title shot. Apollo Crews then show up and tells The Profits that it was #DIY who attacked them. Crews then walks away as everyone looks confused.

Sami Zayn then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Carmelo Hayes follows.

Singles Match: Sami Zayn vs. Carmelo Hayes

The match starts off with both men locking up. Hayes then nails Zayn with a dropkick before the action spills to the outside and Zayn nails Hayes with a moonsault off the barricade. Hayes then hits a springboard crossbody on Zayn and delivers some right hands on him. Zayn then responds with a Blue Thunder Bomb and goes for a pin, but Hayes kicks out and hits Zayn with The First 48. Hayes then sets up for Nothing But Net, but Zayn nails him with a clothesline and delivers some right hands on him in the corner. Zayn then follows it up with an Exploder and looks to hit the Helluva Kick, but Hayes slides out of the ring before Zayn can hit it. The referee then begins a ten count and Hayes retreats up the ramp, but Braun Strowman’s music hits and Strowman chases Hayes to the back. The Bloodline then attacks Zayn in the ring, causing the disqualification.

After the match, The Bloodline continues beating Zayn down before Strowman reemerges and takes down Solo Sikoa. Jacob Fatu then appears behind Strowman, opening the door for Sikoa to hit the Samoan Spike on Strowman. Zayn then beats Sikoa down, but Tama Tonga holds Zayn in place as Fatu flies off the top rope and hits him with a moonsault. The new Bloodline then celebrates in the ring as Nick Aldis and other officials make their way down to the ring to check on Zayn before Kevin Owens music hits and he makes his way down to the ring with the Winged Eagle Championship.

Nick Aldis starts off by saying he has said everything he has needed to and asks Owens to hand him the Winged Eagle Championship. Owens then asks Aldis why he would give it to him considering that it’s his only bargaining chip, then demands a rematch against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship making it clear that it’s the only way that he’ll get it back. Aldis then tells Owens that he will never step foot in a WWE ring again if he doesn’t hand over the Winged Eagle Championship. Cody Rhodes’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Aldis then tells Rhodes to walk away, but Rhodes says he won’t be doing that. Rhodes then tells Aldis that he doesn’t want Owens to hand over the Winged Eagle Championship, then says when he met Owens, he was young and hungry looking to climb the ladder. Rhodes then says back then, he did what he did for himself but now he does it for his family, the fans, his friends and the people who believe in him. Rhodes then says the Winged Eagle Championship was meant to be something special for the fans, but it’s now time for him to take it back. Rhodes then says he and Owens are no longer friends, then reiterates that he wants a match against Owens where the referee can’t stop him. Rhodes then proposes that he and Owens unify the Undisputed WWE Championship and Winged Eagle Championship in a Ladder Match and Aldis reluctantly makes it official for WWE Royal Rumble. Owens then says that sounds great to him and offers his hand to Rhodes, but Rhodes refuses to shake it. Owens then pushes Aldis into Rhodes and stomps on his neck, then heads to the back holding up the Winged Eagle Championship as officials check on Rhodes and the show comes to a close.
