AEW is rolling into 2025 with one more pay-per-view left to go, Worlds End on December 28 from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. This year has been full of good news for AEW, as their new television deal was also locked in, and there is a lot to unpack there.
During a media call promoting the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view, Tony Khan addressed the future runtime of Dynamite and Collision under AEW’s new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
When asked if the shows would remain two hours, Khan confirmed that this is the plan. We will have to see how they stick to that, because there is always an overrun possibility with AEW on Warner Bros Discovery.
Tony Khan went on to acknowledge the flexibility AEW has with overruns with their television home. Khan also made a point to say that the core format of both shows will stay at two hours.
Variety reported that AEW’s new deal will keep Dynamite on TBS and Collision on TNT. While financial terms were not disclosed, sources estimate the agreement is worth over $185 million per year when all elements are considered. So, they are still enjoying their home on Warner Bros Discovery, but Rampage will no longer be in the mix.
We will have to see what is next for AEW in 2025. They have new television deals, which will see the company’s programming on MAX. That will be a big deal for some fans, but it may also play with the television viewership numbers, because streaming services do not typically provide weekly ratings.
