AEW is embarking on a new television deal, and that will come with a long-awaited expansion over to MAX, Warner Bros Discovery’s major streaming service. There are a lot of possibilities for cross-branding and added exposure

During a media call promoting the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view, Tony Khan spoke on the idea of adding to the runtime of Dynamite and Collision. He was also asked about the possibility for AEW’s women’s division getting their own round-robin tournament. Tony Khan answered the questions, but he avoided addressing a question about a recent accusation for their legal team.

The call also included a very interesting question about how AEW will handle ratings with their new television deal. Brandon Thurston asked about AEW’s television ratings and attendance trends. At that point, Tony Khan brought attention to the importance of AEW’s new television deal. He also highlighted Collision’s ratings on Saturdays and expressed confidence in strong numbers for the Christmas night Dynamite. He confidently stated that AEW’s recent television content has been its best this year.

Rich Fann then asked about potential innovations to the AEW television product on MAX and whether AEW plans to share its ratings data. Tony Khan explained that Warner Bros. Discovery controls the ratings information for MAX viewership and what numbers get out there. He noted that AEW may not receive streaming data as quickly or comprehensively as traditional television ratings, but he didn’t shut down the idea that numbers will be a thing of the past.
