Kevin Owens has been acting completely unhinged since taking out Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event. That’s precisely why it’s no surprise that he seemingly took a jab at Cody Rhodes’ time in AEW during a WWE live event as part of the company’s Holiday Tour.
During a WWE live event in Jacksonville, Florida, Kevin Owens squared off against The American Nightmare in a steel cage match. Before the match, Kevin Owens made a reference to Cody Rhodes’ time in AEW while taking a shot at him.
The Prizefighter mentioned that Jacksonville endured years of dealing with Cody Rhodes on a weekly basis and promised to help the city “heal” by defeating him. This was an obvious reference to Cody Rhodes’ appearances at the Dailys Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
“Listen, I understand that Jacksonville suffered a lot of trauma because of Cody Rhodes because for many years cause for many years you guys had to put up with him, put up with him for almost every week, so I will do my best to help you heal by beating the hell out of Cody Rhodes.”
Cody Rhodes would also end up defeating Kevin Owens, in what was his first match since Saturday Night’s Main Event. While this was his return to in-ring action, Rhodes remains absent from WWE television to sell the storyline injury caused by Owens. It’s clear his feud with Owens will continue into 2025, so fans are excited to see what twists and turns will take place in the coming weeks.
