Jeff Hardy isn’t holding back when it comes to his dream retirement scenario, and it involves none other than CM Punk.
Speaking at the HOG Live for the Moment event, the charismatic enigma laid out his ultimate wish: a career-ending WWE match against Punk that could potentially retire both legends.
“Ultimately, man, I’d like to do a really cool match in the WWE and do the Hall of Fame and all that stuff to really end it on the highest note possible,” Jeff shared with Tim Hann Rivera. Reflecting on his storied career,
Hardy added, “Looking back at my career now, the history is just a glimpse, like a blink of an eye, when you achieve so much and then you’re here at this point, older in life. So it’d really be special to have a killer match, maybe make CM Punk retire, and then go into the Hall of Fame.”
Jeff and Punk’s history runs deep. The two collided in 2009 over the World Heavyweight Championship in one of WWE’s most memorable rivalries, which also marked Jeff’s WWE exit until his return in 2017. Their paths crossed again briefly in AEW in 2022, where Hardy even mentioned wanting to face Punk, but the dream match never materialized.
For now, Hardy is enjoying success in TNA Wrestling alongside his brother Matt, as the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions. But Jeff’s sights are clearly set on finishing his legendary career on WWE’s grand stage, with Punk as the final chapter in his storied book.
