Jake Hager has accomplished a lot in professional wrestling but it all stems from his background as an amateur wrestling, as he is a two-sport athlete in football and wrestling and now it appears he is set to be inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2025.
According to PWInsider, Thesz Tragos Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in Iowa has announced Jake Hager as a 2025 inductee. Hager, a standout athlete, attended the University of Oklahoma and excelled in football and wrestling. In 2006, he set a university record with 30 pins in one season, earning All-American honors after placing seventh in the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
Hager began his professional wrestling career in 2006, signing with WWE as Jack Swagger before making his way to AEW in 2019, where he stayed with the company until May of this year.
Jake Hager has been keeping himself busy with other projects following his AEW departure, but he did recently admit that Tony Khan didn’t even want him in the company. Nonetheless, there is no denying just how skilled Hager is as an amateur wrestler, so his being inducted into the Thesz Tragos Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame is a no-brainer for many.
