Danhausen made a return to the wrestling scene at ROH Final Battle, delighting fans as he helped Atlantis Jr. secure a chaotic victory over Mansoor. However, according to reports from Sean Ross Sapp, this wasn’t a meticulously planned comeback—it was a last-minute arrangement that came together just a day before the show.

Speaking on the situation, Sapp revealed, “Yeah, they called him the day before the show and they told him to come do the show. He said, ‘Okay, it’s my job so I’ll come do the show.’ That’s pretty much it.”

The delay in Danhausen’s return stemmed from personal matters. “He’s been very transparent the whole time—it’s not him refusing to work or anything. He had some family stuff, wouldn’t be able to work as many Saturdays. Then he started to work Saturday indy dates, and AEW looked at it and said, ‘Well, what the hell’s going on here?’” Sapp explained.

While the communication between Danhausen and AEW could have been smoother, it was ultimately a simple matter of “tell me to come to work, and I’ll do it,” as Danhausen reportedly put it.

Backstage, the mood was upbeat following his return. Sapp noted that many were thrilled to see Danhausen back in action, and the fan reaction at Final Battle only added to the excitement. With hopes that this will lead to more opportunities for Danhausen in AEW and ROH, his quirky charm seems poised for another round in the spotlight.

Fans who missed his recent vlog got an even deeper glimpse into his mindset, with Danhausen humorously chronicling his preparation for the return, from “fighting polar bears” to “riding beluga whales.”

What do you think about Danhausen’s unexpected return? Will this lead to more major moments for the fan-favorite star in AEW and ROH? Drop your thoughts and predictions below—we’d love to hear from you!
