The Godfather was a major name in WWE during the early ’90s and was a true product of the Attitude Era. It has been a while since fans have seen him on WWE television and fans definitely miss him, and now it seems he has hinted at making a return following the company’s move to Netflix next year.

While speaking on a recent episode of his Poddin’ Aint’ Easy podcast, The Godfather talked about his plans to return to WWE, where he had intended to appear as three of his characters. He revealed that he was set to participate in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The plan was for him to make an entrance as Kama, get eliminated, then return as Godfather, get eliminated again, and finally show up as Papa Shango.

However, these plans were ultimately scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the match did not take place in 2020. This marked the first time since its debut in 2014 that WWE did not hold the battle royal.

“I agreed to come out to Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, I was going to come out as Kama, get eliminated, then I was gonna come back as Godfather, get eliminated, and then I was gonna, I don’t even remember what, I know that the last thing was Papa Shango, and COVID hit and they didn’t do it.”

The Godfather also talked about his pimp character, stating it might be too much for today’s TV but could work on platforms like Netflix. He noted that WWE is PG right now, but his character might fit better in future streaming content once WWE moves to Netflix. He is still under contract with WWE and hinted that fans could see him return in some way.

“They’re so PG and, when they see me, the audience wants to yell, ‘Where’s the Hoes?’ You might see me down at , once they go on Netflix I wouldn’t be surprised. I mean, I’m still under contract. I’m still under contract with them so I’m sure you might see me pop up.”

The transition of Monday Night RAW to Netflix will truly mark the beginning of a whole new era for WWE in general and fans would be more than happy to see The Godfather finally make his return to WWE television one way or the other, so it remains to be seen whether that will become a reality one day.
