Lilian Garcia has been back in the fold as the announcer for Monday Night RAW for the past couple of months, but it has not been an easy journey for Garcia. In fact, she has now revealed the various health struggles she had to deal with before eventually returning as an announcer.
Lilian Garcia posted an emotional video on Instagram, sharing her experience of overcoming vocal cord damage. She explained that the damage was caused by mold in three different homes and a gas leak, which led to severe lung inflammation and affected her voice.
At 58, Garcia encouraged people to keep chasing their dreams, no matter the challenges. She said she is very thankful to have recovered and reached this point in her life. She shared how doctors, functional medicine, and prayer helped her heal. Lilian stated that she is excited to be back in WWE and to lead worship, saying these moments mean so much to her after almost losing her voice completely.
“One of the things that I wanted to share was the struggle that I had with my voice for such a long, long time. If some of you don’t know, I had an attack from a house, from three different homes with mold. And it caused severe inflammation in my lungs. That inflammation, it was so severe that it caused havoc on my vocal cords and projection.
So now, being able to get through all of that and being cured from that, and the amount of doctors that I went through and functional medicine, and lots and lots of prayer, to now being able to be back in the WWE, and now leading worship tomorrow. This is why this means so much to me, because it was almost stripped away.”
Lilian Garcia also mentioned that she paused her Chasing Glory podcast due to issues in her crumbling marriage. Despite the challenges in her life, she is grateful to be announcing in WWE again, and that’s what matters most to her right now.
