Ivar and Erik, known as The War Raiders, have been front and center on WWE programming since their return earlier this year. Their recent capture of the World Tag Team Championships on the December 16 episode of Monday Night Raw was seen as a major win for the duo—and a chance for WWE’s tag division to finally regain some much-needed momentum.

But is WWE really ready to shine the spotlight on its tag teams? According to Fightful Select, an sources within WWE isn’t so sure. Sean Ross Sapp revealed during a recent Fightful Select Q&A podcast that someone within the company responded with a less-than-enthusiastic “Yeah… we’ll see” when asked if the tag team division would actually get more attention under the War Raiders’ reign.

This casts a shadow over earlier optimism about Ivar and Erik breathing new life into the division. Their championship win was a high point, especially given the criticism surrounding Finn Balor and JD McDonagh’s lackluster reign, where they rarely defended the titles. Fans were hopeful that the War Raiders would bring frequent defenses and more competitive matchups.

However, the lukewarm response from WWE sources raises questions about whether the company will truly commit to elevating the tag team scene. Will Ivar and Erik get the opportunities they need to succeed, or will the division remain an afterthought? Only time will tell.
