WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has always been a topic of discussion, particularly for his time in WCW, where he was a huge star. However, many fans have felt that he wasn’t always the easiest person to work with and now it appears Goldberg allegedly chokeslammed a wrestler in WCW for refusing to dap him.

While speaking on the 1 of a Kind podcast, Violent J recalled a funny story about Goldberg during their time in WCW. One time, they were sitting in the arena before the show opened, with just a few wrestlers around and no one else in the arena.

Goldberg was standing ringside on the other side of the guardrail, wearing sweatpants and with his hands cupping his nether regions, stating that it was something that many men do.

“I got a funny story about Goldberg, man. Yeah, in WCW. One time, we were sitting in the arena before the show opened, you know, and there were just a couple of wrestlers standing around. Nobody in the arena—just the workers and everything.

Goldberg is standing ringside, on this side of the guard rail, and he’s got his sweatpants on, right? And he’s got his hands cupping his balls, you know what I’m saying? They’re in his pants, cupping his balls—something many men do, you know?”

Evan Karagias walked up to Goldberg while Violent J and Joey were watching. Violent J noted that Evan went to speak and extended his hand for a dap. Goldberg removed his hand from his pants and went to return the dap. However, Evan immediately pointed out where Goldberg’s hand had been and expressed his discomfort and made it clear he didn’t want to touch Goldberg’s hand.

“So Evan Karagias comes walking up to Goldberg. Me and Joey are sitting there, watching all this, and Evan Karagias walks up to Goldberg. He goes to say something and puts his hand out to give him a dap, you know? So Goldberg removes his hand from his balls and goes to give him the dap. Evan goes, ‘Whoa, man, no! That was on your balls!’ You know what I’m saying?”

In response, Goldberg grabbed Evan Karagias by the neck and without hesitation, chokeslammed him over the guard rail. Goldberg lifted him by the neck and slammed him onto the floor, causing Evan to hit the ground with a thud. Evan did a backward somersault on the mat and quickly ran off.

Later on, Evan sat down next to Violent J and Joey, still shaken, and asked if they saw what happened. He was concerned about his neck and asked if they would testify in court if he decided to sue. Violent J simply responded that he would definitely not testify.

“Man, Goldberg just snatched that kid by the neck. I’m telling you, right then and there, he chokeslammed him over the guard rail. He lifted him up by the neck, over the guard rail, and slammed him onto the floor. Evan hit the ground—bang! Did like a backward somersault on the mat or whatever.

Then he just ran. Yeah, he ran, and he came and sat by me and Joey. He was like, ‘Did you see that? What the f*** is wrong with my neck?!’ Then he goes, ‘If I sue, will you testify in court?’ And I was like, ‘F*** no.’

Goldberg clearly felt disrespected by Evan’s refusal to dap him, but many fans can sympathize with Evan. After all, it’s hard to imagine anyone wanting to shake hands with someone who had their hands in their pants. Regardless, Goldberg ultimately did what he wanted to and fans have simply accepted that fact.
