Dax Harwood isn’t holding back when it comes to reminding the wrestling world that FTR is still on top. The AEW star, alongside his tag team partner Cash Wheeler, has won gold across AEW, WWE, NJPW, AAA, and ROH, but 2024 wasn’t about the spotlight—it was about giving back. Now, Harwood says it’s time to shift gears.
Speaking on 3NT Wrestling, Harwood reflected on FTR’s 2024 strategy and laid out bold plans for the new year. “I told [Cash] at the beginning of 2024, ‘If we retired today, I’d be happy. I would be okay with what we’ve accomplished.’ So 2024, our goal was to try to help make wrestlers, to try to help make younger stars,” Harwood shared.
But after a year of stepping back to help elevate others like Daniel Garcia, RUSH, and Dralistico, Harwood admits FTR may have taken a hit in visibility. “I feel like we might have done ourselves a disservice in 2024 by being maybe a little giving, keeping ourselves in the background a bit too much,” he said.
That’s all about to change in 2025. Harwood made it clear that FTR is ready to reclaim their place as the premier tag team in the industry. “Selfishly, I want to remind people that FTR is the greatest tag team in the world. Even though we’ve got a little bit of age on us, I feel better physically than I ever have in my life,” he declared.
And it’s not just about reclaiming glory—it’s about elevating tag team wrestling as a whole. “Unfortunately, I think maybe it took a step back this year, and I think it’s our job and our duty as FTR to bring tag team wrestling back to the main event scene,” Harwood emphasized.
With AEW’s partnership with Max bringing streaming opportunities and FTR’s renewed focus, fans can expect the duo to set 2025 on fire.
Are you ready for FTR to storm back into the spotlight and remind everyone why they’re the gold standard of tag team wrestling? Dax Harwood is clearly on a mission, and with 2025 just around the corner, it looks like tag team wrestling might finally reclaim its place at the top.
