Tony Khan received a gift that’s sure to stand out in his collection. During the AEW Collision tapings, Santa Claus himself presented Khan with a DVD of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s cult classic Timecop.

This moment unfolded as part of the Collision tapings, where Khan has been known to reference Timecop during the extended recording sessions for AEW Rampage or ROH on HonorClub episodes. Fans familiar with Khan’s unique sense of humor might have noticed the connection, as he often jokingly alludes to the 1994 sci-fi action film when discussing AEW or ROH matches taped after Collision or Dynamite.

Khan’s fascination with Timecop isn’t new. Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, he shared his enthusiasm for the film and how it connects to the wrestling world. “I would love to do that. That’s definitely in our future. We’ve revitalized the popularity of a classic film. Timecop is not just a cult classic; it’s also the biggest commercial success of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s career. The only $100 million movie he ever did, and for good reason. It’s an excellent film, and it applies sometimes to the world of wrestling when most of the shows are live, but sometimes you tape them, and you’re in two places at once.”

While there’s no word on whether this gift will inspire any future AEW gimmick matches, the idea of a Timecop match isn’t entirely off the table. Knowing Khan’s enthusiasm for blending wrestling with pop culture, it’s not hard to imagine this becoming a reality in AEW’s creative landscape.
