Ricky Starks’ future in professional wrestling has become a topic of speculation, especially following his absence after the March 30 episode of AEW Collision. With AEW taping the December 25 edition of Dynamite in advance this week, updates about Starks’ status for the taping have now been revealed.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Ricky Starks is not expected to appear at this weekend’s shows. According to the report, Starks informed friends that he was out of the country.
It is to be noted that AEW will be holding the December 21st episode of Collision tonight and then tape the December 25 edition of Dynamite on December 22nd at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
As for his wrestling career, Ricky Starks announced his debut at House of Glory’s “Final Warning” event, set for January 25 in New York City. This follows his earlier removal from several GCW shows this year, which came after controversial remarks made by Effy about AEW President Tony Khan and his father, Shad Khan, leading to significant backlash.
Starks has openly expressed uncertainty about his future in AEW, as there are no clear signs of his return to the company. With his contract set to expire in the future, the question remains whether “The Absolute” will remain with AEW or move on to new opportunities elsewhere. Only time will reveal what lies ahead for his wrestling career as fans still hope he will return to AEW.
