Tessa Blanchard may be back in TNA, but her status with the company remains in limbo. While she’s actively involved in a feud with Jordynne Grace, the controversial star hasn’t signed a contract—and Matt Hardy has some insight into why.
Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy explained that TNA appears to be taking a cautious approach with Blanchard. “Apparently, they’ve been following her pretty closely—seeing how she’s been as a performer, how professional she’s been and whatnot,” Hardy noted. He added that Blanchard’s current arrangement seems to be more of a test run than a long-term commitment.
“That said, my understanding is she’s not under contract with TNA, so we’ll see how that goes. I think it’s a work in progress. It seems like they’re trying to do everything the right way.”
Blanchard, for her part, has denied any formal signing with the company. Still, her return has drawn backlash from fans due to her controversial history and prior exit from TNA under tense circumstances.
TNA’s calculated approach suggests they’re giving Blanchard a chance to prove herself before locking her into any long-term agreements. Whether she can fully redeem herself and earn that contract remains to be seen.
